The Journey
Kindred Spirit Collective was born from a journey of learning what it means to come home to myself. Growing up in a small town, I often felt like there were parts of me that never truly fit into the spaces around me. During my coming-of-age years, I struggled to express who I truly was. I learned to quiet pieces of myself to feel accepted, often putting aside my creativity, sensitivity, and authentic voice in favor of what I thought I was supposed to be. For much of my life, I navigated challenges with mental health and neurodivergence without fully understanding what I was experiencing. These were periods marked by self-doubt, overwhelm, and feeling disconnected from myself. It wasn't until my thirties that I finally received answers that helped me better understand my experiences. While receiving a diagnosis brought clarity, it also allowed me to extend compassion to versions of myself that had been trying their best all along. Healing, for me, has never been linear. It has been a process of unlearning, rediscovering, grieving old versions of myself, and finding the courage to embrace who I truly am. The name Kindred Spirit Collective comes from a belief that in this vast and often chaotic universe, we are not meant to navigate life alone. There are people whose souls resonate with out own - kindred spirits who remind us that we belong, we are seen, and that our experiences connect us rather than separate us. My hope is that this space serves as a gathering place for those seeking connection, authenticity, and a gentler way of moving through the world. Throughout my journey, I have continually found myself returning to nature. There is something profoundly grounding about remembering that we, too, are part of the natural world. The changing seasons, the steady rhythm of the ocean, the quiet resilience of forests, and the cycles of growth and rest found in nature have all become reminders that healing and transformation unfold in their own time. Yoga became one of the most transformative tools in that journey. What began as movement gradually evolved into something much deeper. Through yoga, I discovered not only the strength and resilience of my body, but also the incredible empowerment that comes from trusting myself. I learned that my body was not something to fight against or criticize - it was something worthy of gratitude, respect, and care. Yoga taught me how to slow down, to listen inwardly, and to recognize that growth doesn't happen through pushing harder. Sometimes it happens with softness, consistency, and presence. Through breath and movement, yoga has continually guided me back home - to myself, to the present moment, and to a deeper connection with the earth beneath me. I believe there is something sacred about placing out hands and feet on the ground and remembering that we are not separate from nature, but rather, a part of it. Yoga has become a practice of rooting myself back into Mother Earth, allowing me to reconnect with my soul, quiet the noise of the outside world, and remember the wisdom that has always existed within me. Alongside yoga, my exploration of energy work and Reiki opened new pathways toward self awareness and connection. These practices invited me to cultivate compassion for myself and others, creating space for rest, reflection, and healing in a world that often asks us to move faster and do more. Kindred Spirit Collective was created from the belief that wellness extends beyond a single practice. It lives in the small rituals that bring us back to ourselves - the mindful movement of a yoga practice, the grounding experience of energy work, the comfort of nourishing foods, and the creativity that allows us to express who we are. This space is an extension of my own journey: one of courage, curiosity, creativity, connection, and care. Whether you find yourself here through yoga, Reiki, handmade goods, or simply a desire to reconnect with yourself, my hope is that Kindred Spirit Collective feels like a welcoming place to pause, breathe deeply, and remember that you don't have to have everything figured out to begin. You are allowed to grow. You are allowed to evolve. You are allowed to take up space exactly as you are. Most importantly, I hope you know that even in life's uncertainty, there are kindred spirits walking alongside you. In finding ourselves, we often find each other. Thank you for being here. I am honored to be a small part of your journey, just as this community has become an important part of mine. With gratitude, Emily Founder, Kindred Spirit Collective
